Peter Bamford
Keyboards, Programming & Backing Vocals
The founder of 'Echoes' and the man who keeps everything together with an incredible range of skilled keyboard playing, programmed intros and esoteric sounds.
Easily identified as he's generally the one with biggest frown of concentration and the most bits of wire.
Oran Halberthal
Bass Guitar
Oran keeps the beat for 'Echoes' with his trusty Precision Bass as he has done from Day One. Well known for his famous
'sideways squint' when somebody doesn't get things exactly right, and for making our trouser legs flap with the volume from his bass rig.
Now with extra pedals. Oh dear...
Simon Melvin
Drums & Percussion
Another 'Echoes' original, Simon's drumming is the glue that binds the cogs of the band together. He has more kit than anyone else, and is the loudest.
Notorious for getting over excited in the rocky bits, playing a mean Rototom intro on 'Time' and eating his lunch between ( and sometimes, during ) numbers.
John Vassar
Lead Vocals, Electric & Acoustic Guitar
John was drafted in when ( in true Floyd style ) the original vocalist disappeared in mysterious circumstances. Previously with rock covers band 'Too Much',
his main function is to stand at the front and take the blame, although sometimes he's allowed to sing and even play the guitar a bit. Tells bad jokes a lot.
Guy Smith
Tenor Saxophone
Something was missing. Guy came along, filled the void and amazes us with his saxy fills and solos. Gets on with the job and speaks his mind ( so we don't give him
a microphone ). We don't argue with him either as he's very tall.
Check out Guy's own solo website at
Guy Smith Saxophone.
Lee Deal
Lead Guitar, Slide Guitar & Acoustic Guitar
Lee is a seasoned plectrum-wielder and self-confessed Floyd nut like the rest of us. He joined Echoes as our lead guitarist early in 2010 and has done us proud ever since.
We can't remember where we found him and we don't much care.
All we know is... he's the Real Deal.
